23 Apr 2014

A female Atlantic bottlenose dolphin has been born at Orlando’s Discovery Cove – the second calf to be born at the park in just over a month.

The newest calf – which is currently unnamed – weighs around 22 kilograms and is almost 120 centimetres long. The Discovery Cove Zoological Team is providing around-the-clock care for both mother and her new calf, alongside another female dolphin and her youngster which was born in February.

The arrival is the 28th dolphin to have been born at Discovery Cove since it opened its doors in 2000.
