Our standards of care

The SeaWorld Parks, policies and programmes are overseen by many federal and state laws including The Animal Welfare Act, The Marine Mammal Protection Act and The Endangered Species Act.

The SeaWorld Parks operate under the authority of multiple government agencies and are regularly inspected for compliance with federal and state law.

SeaWorld Orlando, Discovery Cove and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay are all certified humane by American Humane’s Humane Conservation program and accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the Alliance of Marine Mammal Parks and Aquariums. Accredited and certified zoos and aquariums undergo a rigorous review that includes a detailed application as well as a multiple day on-site inspection by a team of experts from around the country.

All three parks received a 100% pass in the independent audit carried out in accordance with the ABTA animal welfare guidelines for animals in tourism.
